German Shorthaired Pointer

This breed descended from the Spanish Pointer, which was introduced in the early 1600s. They were first admitted to the AKC in 1930. They are very active, strong-willed companion dogs that need a lot of exercise and training. Although generally friendly with children, they are too powerful and energetic for small children.

AVERAGE WEIGHT: 45-70 lbs.
AVERAGE HEIGHT: 21-25” at shoulder
